As we go through transition periods, we don’t want to add more theories to our minds, but clarity on which step to take to unlock more fulfillment. In this article, you will learn how to work with your energy to find the right path without having to feed the overwhelm as a highly sensitive soul.

When being highly sensitive, we tend to question everything and analyze thoroughly. This happens to the point that it may sometimes trigger overthinking and anxiety (especially when the wind of change is blowing on our lives!).

As we notice a certain dissatisfaction within ourselves and start considering potential changes, it can get particularly uncomfortable making decisions based on the unknown. Especially if our energy feels already drawn out.

So how can you bring more safety, clarity, and trust to your mind and body by relying on your chakras?

It All Starts With Your Ability to Say «I am here and I am safe» With a Balanced Root Chakra

Being on the right path means acting in harmony with your deepest aspirations and values. Through your actions, you make come to life a vision of the world in which you wish to participate. But before you can visualize your goals and make plans to take action, you need to feel safe to do so.

While going through transition periods, your sense of safety and security is challenged. Change always implies to some extent a journey into the unknown – moving from what’s familiar (even if familiar means unsatisfying) towards something less familiar. Therefore, to embrace the disorientation and uncertainty that changes trigger, you need to build steadiness within yourself.

Each of your chakras has a number of attributes like a specific color, and an element, but also maintains specific physical and emotional functions within yourself. As you move into unfamiliar situations, it’s your root chakra that is primarily shaken.

Associated with security/safety, mental stability, survival, and prosperity, the root chakra confers confidence and trust in ourselves and in the world around us. It is particularly affected by your earliest experiences – for example, it may have been stressed by different childhood traumas triggering behaviors led by fear and lack.

Additionally, the Root Chakra acts as a foundation upon which you can build. When it is out of balance, the whole structure you’re building may fall apart.

As a result, to see the way forward and move towards your authentic path peacefully, you should balance your Root Chakra. After all, you want to be in your power to step up!

Here Are a Couple of Ideas to Get You Started:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Heal your Inner child through journaling activities;
  • Use essential oils such as sandalwood, cedarwood, and patchouli…;
  • Dance;
  • Eat red food or earthy vegetables;
  • Walk barefoot;
  • Do some gardening;
  • Connect with the color red;
  • Wear red jasper, ruby, and garnet…;
  • Practice yoga poses such as standing forward fall, tree pose, chair pose, pyramid pose…

Signs of an Unbalanced Root Chakra May Include:

Mental lethargy and a feeling of emptiness, insecurity, incapacity of inner stillness, arthritis, poor general health, lacking vital energy, anxiety, self-doubt but also greed, materialism…

Once You’ve Built Safety Within Yourself, You May Start Feeling Your Way Forward With the Sacral Chakra

Ok, so now that we’ve built more security and safety creating more space for your authentic self, it’s time to feel into it! The right path is primarily a feeling of alignment; it’s that place where what we say, think, feel and do meet to work in harmony.

Therefore, let me introduce you to the second chakra – the Sacral chakra which is a center of consciousness (instinctual) like the root chakra. It deals with our emotional capacity to experience pleasure, relinquish control, make choices, and create something unique and personal. Also, its state reflects our relationships with others and with ourselves.

“Sacred” from the Latin “sacer” refers to that which is ‘consecrated, dedicated. This chakra is the seat of creation of all kinds of projects: fertility and reproduction, but also fertility in its noblest act: creation.

When it is blocked you may note some of these symptoms: lack of creativity, feeling disconnected from your emotions, fear of intimacy, being destructive, dependent, addictive behavior, isolation/detachment from society, back pain, infertility, constipation, irregular menstruation, difficulty materializing your desires…

Finding your path is all about following what replenishes your energy rather than what’s consuming it. However, to follow your deepest aspirations and desires, you’ve got to be able to hear them and that starts with getting back into your body.

Assuming you now attend to your body’s needs with a balanced root chakra, you may now welcome fully what your body has to say. What does feel right? When do you see yourself ending an activity with more energy than before you started it? You’ve given yourself permission to « be » with the root chakra, now you may work on balancing the Sacral Chakra to uncover natural gifts and desires but also tap into your ability to create whatever feels right.

To Support Your Sacral Chakra Healing You May:

  • Watch the sunset;
  • Visualize the orange of a risen sun emanating from just below your navel;
  • Spend time by a river/lake, go swimming, have a cleansing shower, and drink water…;
  • Practice triangle pose or shiva pose in Yoga…;
  • Practice a regular body scan;
  • Eat oranges, nuts, cinnamon, almonds, and protein…;
  • Have an Energy Healing session;
  • Enjoy some creative activities…

Being, Feeling… Now Let’s Bring in Some Action With the Solar Plexus Chakra!

Along with the root chakra, this is the chakra that is most frequently out of balance when we feel stuck or fearful to take the leap of faith towards a more fulfilling path. Moreover, its imbalances may lead to an excessive need to control, low self-esteem, oversensitivity to criticism, chronic fatigue, digestive issues…

The third chakra, Manipura in Sanskrit, is the seat of personal power, the self. Through it, we assert our individuality and exercise our free will. Consequently, it is the inner sun of the body and the awakening of the authentic self. Do you see why it is relevant to embrace its functions when seeking the right path?

Your solar plexus chakra represents motivation, will, and purpose, which arise from a sense of self-efficacy but it is also linked to your self-confidence and self-view. We may add that it governs the digestive system and its respective organs; therefore, it has jurisdiction over the emotional brain of the gut and stored emotions.

But that’s not it! The solar plexus chakra is also the trapdoor to the autonomic nervous system which basically regulates involuntary physiologic processes such as your heart rate, and blood pressure – oh, hello anxiety symptoms!

Being highly sensitive implies having a sensitive nervous system which means we might more easily trigger a fight or flight response or develop anxiety symptoms based on past experiences which we can regulate through balancing our chakras accordingly.

When connecting to your soul purpose and trying to find the right path, balancing your Solar plexus chakra is what will awaken the drive to take aligned actions as you face your fears unleashing your authentic power.

Here Are a Couple of Energy Healing Tips for Your Solar Plexus Chakra:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Spend time around fire, enjoy the sun, meditate with a candle…;
  • Use essential oils such as grapefruit (super for lifting up your mood and positivity as well), lemon…
  • Practice fire breath or Yoga poses such as camel pose, reverse tabletop, crescent warrior…!
  • Eat yellow foods such as bananas and lemons;
  • Identify your fears and reframe them.

Set Clear Boundaries Around the Heart Chakra

Highly sensitives often tend to fall into people-pleasing behaviors and struggle to set healthy boundaries when it comes to giving and receiving. This often leads to scenarios where perfection becomes the ultimate but unachievable goal, external validation runs the show or we give in to an unrealistic evaluation of ourselves.

How is that relevant to finding your path? Well, how can you connect with YOUR authentic success if success only exists when you can validate it externally? How can you stand in your power and thrive when deep down your energy body reflects low self-worth and poor boundaries?

Most highly sensitive souls have an overactive heart chakra rather than a blocked heart chakra and that calls for healthy boundaries and more self-love! I very often see individuals being unable to connect with their true purpose because unconsciously they think they do not deserve it or try to get there for anyone but themselves.

Balancing your Heart Chakra will help not only invite abundance on your path but also create a healthier and more authentic version of success where your energy isn’t constantly leaking.

Here Are Some Ways to Balance Your Heart Chakra:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Surround yourself with plants;
  • Meditate, connect to the energy of unconditional love…;
  • Use essential oils such as rose, geranium, and black spruce…;
  • Practice deep breathing exercises and yoga poses such as fish pose, triangle pose, and reclined spinal twist…;
  • Eat your greens such as broccoli, peas and spinach…;
  • Practice gratitude…

Express Your Truth With the Throat Chakra

You’ve connected to yourself on a deep level. Also, you now know what is truly coming from your authentic self and what isn’t. You are aware of what’s simply a defense mechanism based on past trauma or a manifestation of misalignment. Now that you are aligned with your values and aspirations, you may simply express them!

The energy element governed by the Throat chakra is effective communication and that includes communication between your chakras too. Vishuddha Chakra is the source of vibrations and sounds and also represents inspiration and expression.

For instance, through this center of communication (listening and expression, body-mind connection, communication with the authentic self,…), we can clearly express our own truth on our path.

Balancing your Throat Chakra will help you find the connection between what you give to life (eg. Through your creative gifts, goals achieved…), what you take from it (what you receive from your experiences and relationships), and the stance you take towards life through your attitude. In other words, you will fully uncover your truth, and your life purpose and be able to speak it out loud.

Here Are Some Energy Healing Tips for Your Throat Chakra:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Drink lots of fluids (herbal tea, water…);
  • Breathwork;
  • Use essential oils such as lavender, basil, camomile…;
  • Practice deep breathing exercices and yoga poses such as candle pose, fish pose, bow pose…
  • Eat foods such as blueberries, lemon, plums…;
  • Journaling…

Look Beyond What You See as You Open Your Third Eye Chakra

Are you still disconnected from your intuition? Unable to visualize? Lack of imagination and focus? Highly sensitive people have a natural ability to connect with their intuition and inner sense of knowing but they might weaken that communication through overstimulation or accumulation of stress.

If that’s the case, you might need to nurture your third eye chakra – or Ajna chakra in Sanskrit is known as “the seat of intuition”. Translations of the Sanskrit name include “to perceive”, “beyond wisdom” and “to command”. Located in the center of the forehead, it acts as the center of wisdom, awareness, and higher consciousness of the individual.

Etymologically, “eye” comes from the Sanskrit “Aksa” meaning “sense”, and the Greek “Ops” meaning “sight”. What is even more interesting is that in Roman mythology, Ops is the goddess of abundance and prosperity. The third eye thus evokes the ability to see abundantly beyond the real, to be rich in our understanding of things beyond their first interpretation. Moreover, it enables clear thinking, spiritual contemplation, and self-reflection.

Healing Tips For Your Third Eye Chakra:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Positive thinking;
  • Meditate;
  • Use essential oils such as peppermint, clary sage…;
  • Practice kundalini yoga, brain yoga…;
  • Eat foods such as aubergines, blackberries, red grapes, red cabbage…;
  • Challenge your perspectives by interacting with other cultures, opening up to the world around you…

When Your Energy Is balanced – You Just Know It!

Sensitive soul, you are oh so magnetic and your ability to connect with the subtle worlds is immense. When your energy is balanced, your magnetism is unleashed and synchronicities come from all directions.

The crown chakra, or sahasrāra chakra in Sanskrit, is known as “the bridge to the cosmos”. Of all the seven chakras, it is the most spiritual in nature. Located above the crown of the head, it acts as the center of spirit, enlightenment, wisdom, universal consciousness, and connection to the higher guidance of the individual.

The crown chakra represents the highest level of human consciousness. Moreover, it symbolizes that which is greater than our understanding of life. Hence, it allows connection with the eternal part of us: the soul. But it also connects us with the divine, the spirit guides, and the universe.

The coronal chakra stands for wisdom, altruism, self-knowledge, soul consciousness, and spiritual connection, but also the universal energy source. Sahasrara opens your higher mind leading to spiritual understanding and the experience of peaceful moments. Meditation is well known for finding this state.

Headaches, obsessive thinking, disillusionment, boredom, melancholy, and restlessness may come as reminders of this precious gift of yours that need to be taken care of.

Energy Healing Tips For Your Crown Chakra:

  • Have an energy healing session;
  • Cleanse your home, detox your body, create some space;
  • Learn new things ! Read, feed your curiosity;
  • Use essential oils such as frankincense, peppermint…;
  • Practice yoga poses such as corpse pose, rabbit pose, crocodile pose, tree pose…;
  • Eat foods such as aubergines, blackberries, red grapes, red cabbage…;
  • Meditate.
