Do you feel like your life is out of balance? Do you find yourself feeling a little off-center and overwhelmed by the world around you? If so, then this blog post is for YOU!

In this article we will explore 7 ways to help become more spiritual as an empath. These are some things that I’ve found to be helpful in my spiritual journey, and I hope that they will help you too. Let’s get started!

#1 Grounding To Become More Spiritual

Get grounded every day. Grounding exercises can help with spiritual development because it gives your energy time to slow down and come back into your body where it belongs.

A grounding exercise could be something as simple as taking deep breaths or listening closely to the sounds around you. You can also use grounding stones such as black tourmaline, hematite or jade.

When I first started my grounding practice, I immediately noticed a shift in my energy and how I went about the rest of my day. Also, I noticed that I could manage my energy more effectively when being around other people. Something that is quite useful, considering the fact that I am an empath.

#2 Practice Gratitude

Another practice I found useful in my search for spiritual connection, is to practice gratitude. Oftentimes, many of us tend to look at the negative situations and things in our life.

We get so wrapped up in what we don’t have, that we forget to look at what we do have. However, this is the biggest spiritual blockage that you could create for yourself. From this aspect, it is difficult to practice spiritual method such as manifestation, compassion and love. Therefore, it is important to free yourself from negative and limiting beliefs by shifting your mind towards positive aspects of your life.

#3 Get Out In Nature To Become More Spiritual

Another way to become more spiritual, is to spend more time in nature. There is nothing more spiritual than connecting with the source of all our happiness and inner peace – Mother Earth.

Think about it for a second; everything that you have in front of you; your phone, your clothing, your jewelry, your food, your home… it all origins from this planet. Yet, many of us forget to connect with this beautiful core of our being. Therefore, if you want to become more spiritual, going outside to spend time in nature is the best way to do so.

Go to the beach, spend time in the forest or simply sit under a big tree in your local park. As long as it helps you to connect with Mother Earth.

#4 Meditation & Yoga

If you are looking for ways to become more spiritual and reconnect with yourself and your own energy, meditation and yoga are definitely worth looking into.

For me, these two practices combined were life-changing for my mental and physical well-being. Ever since I started meditating daily and regularly practicing yoga, I became more spiritually connected with everything around me. Instead of becoming frustrated by other people’s behavior, I now manage to look at them with compassion and love.

Meditation and yoga helped me deeply connect with spirituality and to generally become a more nice and caring person. Also, it helped me to be more gentle towards myself and my own thoughts.

#5 Spend Time With Animals

Another powerful method to become more spiritual, is to spend more time with animals. Animals, unlike humans, do not spend time worrying about the time, everything around them or the future. They simply are present in the here and now.

Therefore, spending time with animals is an incredibly powerful way to connect with your spirituality. Simply watch them play or be in the present moment and notice how your own energy shifts more towards the now.

#6 Give Back To Others To Become More Spiritual

How can one of us be happy, if the rest is unhappy? This is a common thought amongst many spiritual beliefs. According to modern spirituality, we all are one and connected with each other.

Therefore, it is important to give back to others. By being there for other people and helping them, you will feel more connected with the spiritual energy surrounding all of us.

For instance, you may want to help out at your local animal shelter or support the homeless with food and clothing. Also, you may want to help out a friend who is moving or an elderly person by doing their grocery shopping. There are tons of ways to give back!

#7 Be Compassionate With Yourself

Many empaths are kind and caring for others, but incredibly tough on themselves. What helped me to create a better relationship with myself and become more spiritual, was to learn self-compassion.

I identified my hateful thoughts towards myself and turned them around to more positive affirmation statements. For instance, I turned the thought ‘I never do enough’ around to ‘I am working hard every day and every tiny step I take, is a step towards my end goal’.

Simply by countering your negative, limiting beliefs with more positive affirmation statements, you over time can change your mindset towards more self-compassion.

As I learned to become more self-compassionate, I learned that I can help others more efficiently. My positive energy is healing for people who struggle. Therefore, I now know that by being kind and loving for myself, I actually help others more than putting all my energy into others without spending time on self-compassion.

Have Fun Discovering Your Spiritual Path

When you start your spiritual journey, the most important thing is to have fun. Spiritual practices are very personal and there is no ‘one size fits all’-approach.

Therefore, try to experiment with different spiritual practices and pick those that are the most interesting to you.
