You know, we all have those moments where life feels a bit dull, and we find ourselves questioning, “Is this it?”. Moments when we feel bored, lacking in purpose, passion, and joy, simply going through the motions of daily life. It’s perfectly normal to have these periods, and often, they signal that it’s time to stretch beyond our comfort zone. These feelings may be a sign that the life we’ve built is ready for a new phase. Or perhaps it’s time to reconnect with our true purpose and make it a part of our everyday lives. However, figuring out what to do when you feel this way can be challenging, especially when you’re feeling low energy and lost. I’ve been there, too, and these five tips have helped me find direction and purpose again. So grab your cup of coffee and get inspired as I share them with you.

1. Join an Inspirational Event

When you’re feeling stuck, one of the best things you can do is to surround yourself with inspiration. Look for events in your area that resonate with what you’re struggling with. For instance, if you’re grappling with self-love and insecurity, find a self-love workshop. If you’re unsure about the next steps in your business, attend a business growth seminar. Or if you’re a parent feeling overwhelmed, look for parenting support groups or workshops.

The goal of these events is to feed you with new ideas, shift your perspective, and give you a renewed sense of purpose. I remember attending a business event from Simone Levie, a successful online entrepreneur, when I felt stuck. Her insights inspired me to start our membership for highly sensitive people and empaths, which has now grown into a flourishing community. That single event sparked a passion and purpose in me that I didn’t even realize I had.

2. Have a Conversation with Your Higher Self

Another powerful way to reconnect with your purpose is by having a conversation with your higher self. This might sound a bit mystical, but it’s about tuning into your inner wisdom. Start by laying down and meditating. Choose a calm environment with soothing music in the background. Before you begin, set your phone to record and ask your higher self to speak through you, sharing whatever you need to hear at that moment. Don’t force or direct the conversation; just allow your thoughts to flow naturally. After the meditation, pause the recording and listen to it. You might be surprised by what comes out. I’ve found this practice incredibly healing, especially when I’ve felt stuck or upset. It’s a way to access a deeper part of yourself and gain insights that might not come through conscious thought alone.

3. Implement Small Moments of Joy

When you’re feeling a lack of purpose, it’s easy to slip into a low-energy, even depressive state. That’s why it’s essential to incorporate small moments of joy into your daily routine. These don’t have to be grand gestures—just simple, pleasurable activities that can uplift your mood. Enjoy a coffee to-go while walking your dog, write down gratitude moments before bed, sit in your garden with a cup of tea and listen to the birds, or call a loved one for a quick chat. These small moments can reignite your spark and elevate your energy. And when your energy is lifted, you might find that your perspective shifts, making it easier to see possibilities where you once saw limitations.

4. Look at Your Role Models

Sometimes, finding purpose again means looking at those you admire. Who are the people you look up to, and what do they do that inspires you? Take note of their habits and routines. Maybe your role model starts their day with a morning workout, or perhaps they swear by reading for 30 minutes every afternoon. Try adopting some of their habits to see if they make a positive impact on your life. It’s not about copying someone else’s life but about finding elements that resonate with you and incorporating them into your routine. Your role models are successful for a reason, and their habits might offer you the guidance you need to shift your mindset and energy.

5. Feed Your Mind

To rediscover your purpose, it’s essential to feed your mind like you would feed your body. Make a habit of consuming new information regularly. Read books, listen to podcasts, watch documentaries, or take online courses. Introduce yourself to new ideas, perspectives, and knowledge. This constant influx of new information can spark curiosity and creativity, helping you to see your situation differently. I personally love reading books like “The Universe Has Your Back” by Gabrielle Bernstein or “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle when I need a boost. These books have a way of lifting my spirit and helping me reconnect with my purpose.

Good Luck to Move from a Lack of Purpose to Passion and Enthusiasm!

Experiencing a lack of purpose is not uncommon, but it’s a signal that you might need a reset. By attending inspirational events, having conversations with your higher self, incorporating small moments of joy, looking at your role models, and feeding your mind with new information, you can reignite your sense of purpose. Think of this as a hard reset for your body and mind—introducing new ideas, environments, and inputs to help you get back on track. Remember, these moments of feeling lost are just a part of the journey. By taking steps to reconnect with your purpose, you can find your way to a more fulfilling and joyful life. I hope these tips help you as much as they’ve helped me, and I wish you all the best on your journey to finding purpose and joy.
